京都にお越しの際、皆様はどのエリアを訪れますか？

河原町周辺は京都の中心街として賑わっており、

行ったことあるよ！という方も多いのではないでしょうか。

鴨川を挟んで東側に広がるのは、祇園や清水寺が並ぶ東山。

平安神宮や南禅寺が並ぶ岡崎。

そして鴨川を渡って西側に広がるのが、河原町や烏丸です。

京都市内の観光にはこの『鴨川』を中心に広がっており、市民にとってもシンボルのような存在です。

そんな鴨川を渡るため、京都市内には多くの橋が架けられています。

その中でも、HOTEL ARU KYOTO から一番近い

『三条大橋』がこの度、新しくなりました🥳✨

この三条大橋が初めて架けられたのは、なんと1590年！！

今から434年も前だそうです。

洪水などで何度も架けかえられながら、今の姿になりました。

橋の中間あたりには新選組が池田屋を襲撃した、池田屋騒動の時の刀傷が残っていたり…

歴史を感じさせてくれる貴重な存在です。

そんな三条大橋、日没～23時までライトアップが施されており、

暗くなってからでもその姿を鮮明に見ることができます。

🌟 “Sunset to 23:00! The Sanjo Ohashi Bridge is currently illuminated🌟!

Which area do you usually visit when you come to Kyoto?

Kawaramachi is a central area of Kyoto and I’m sure many of you have likely explored before!

To the east, across the Kamo River, lies Higashiyama, home to Gion and Kiyomizu-dera Temple.   To the west, you’ll find Kawaramachi and Karasuma.

The Kamo River stands as a symbol of the city, and to cross this river, numerous bridges have been constructed in Kyoto.

Among them, the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge, which is the closest to HOTEL ARU KYOTO, has recently undergone a renewal celebration 🥳✨

Constructed in 1590, the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge has been in use for 434 years.  If you take a closer look at the middle of the bridge, you’ll notice some katana cut marks from the Ikedaya riot.  Please try to find them.

The Sanjo Ohashi Bridge is currently illuminated from sunset until 23:00.
